Once upon a time there were two sisters and a friend who couldn’t stop talking about food.
Food, food, food, blah, blah, food...you get the point.
Then came the fateful balmy summer evening that changed things.
Commiserating over a box of bad wine and better food, Lisa asked her
fellow geeks: “How can we take this unhealthy obsession and harness it
into something good?”
And thus
the idea for The Kitchen Geeks was born. A one-stop resource for home
cooks, people could access information on everything from the most basic
kitchen techniques to some really obscure culinary tricks.
The
Kitchen Geeks site features a plethora of ultimate recipes, how-tos and
quicks tips. We encourage our readers to rate our recipes, comment on
our posts, suggest new topics and ask us questions. If we don’t know the
answers, we’ll find out!
Christine writes about food for
LIVESTRONG.com and eHow Food & Drink. She lives with her three children and husband, a
20-year veteran of professional kitchens, who also acts as an unpaid
consultant to The Kitchen Geeks. Christine’s favourite foods include
anything with mushrooms and chocolate, but not together.
Sandy
is an accomplished home cook, and spends much of her spare time
devouring food blogs and developing recipes. She is the big cahouna in
our test kitchen, and slaps our hands with a wooden spoon if we try to
sample her food before it’s ready. Sandy is the official photographer
for The Kitchen Geeks and thinks there’s nothing more beautiful than a
beautifully prepared dish of fresh food.
Lisa, Sandy’s sister,
is our techno-geek and organizational guru. She has run many a
home-based business, and loves the challenge of new start-ups almost as
much as she loves making a recipe come to life (not literally, of
course!). She loves to work out and outside of the gym she spends her
spare time researching kitchen gadgets and talking about food.
